Laureate and draped bust right / DACIA in exergue, S C across field, Dacia seated left on rock pile, holding signum (standard) in right hand and falx (curved sword) over left shoulder. This sestertius, part of Hadrian’s “Travel Series,” celebrates the recently conquered province of Dacia by depicting a male personification holding a Roman military standard and the deadly Dacian falx, a curved two-handed sword.
