William III. AR Halfcrown. 1701. First bust, elephant and castle below. D. TERTIO. Bull 1050; ESC 566; SCBC 3495. The elephant and castle and date clear. Extremely rare. In NGC encapsulation 2118478-004, graded G 4.

From the Mildenhall Collection. Purchased Spink, November 1998. Ex Spink Numismatic Circular, February 1994, no. 313.

The last appearance of the Elephant and Castle provenance mark on the silver coinage. All known specimens are in worn condition. The second highest graded by NGC!!
