Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ Bimetallic Medallion (39mm, 53.89 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 182-183. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Commodus, in sacerdotal dress, sacrificing over lighted tripod; to left, Roma seated right, holding hasta and Victory; to right, Felicitas seated left, holding cornucopia and grain ears; between, two young men, one of them playing flute. Gnecchi II, p. 68, 148 (pl. 88, 3); MIR 18, 1090-1/37; Banti 441. Dark green-brown patina, some corrosion, roughness, and areas of smoothing. Near VF. Rare.
