Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Homonoia standing left, raising right hand, holding double cornucopia with left; L I (date) to right, palm frond to left. Köln 2457; Dattari (Savio) 4431-2; K&G 62.140; Emmett 3166.10 (R2). Rough brown patina with touches of green and red. Fine. Rare.

The palm frond on Severus Alexander’s regnal year 10 coinage alludes to the decennalia ludi, public games celebrating the completion of a ten-year reign. He would continue to use the palm frond on his coinage through his year 14 coinage.
