ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.83 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Karaich–, Ergokle–, and Diome–, magistrates. Struck 121/0 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; magistrates’ names in fields; to right, prow right; M on amphora, ME below; all within wreath. Thompson 540d corr. (letter on amphora; this coin, illustrated); HGC 4, 1602. Toned, patches of find patina, some old scratches and marks. Good VF.
