Michael VIII Palaeologus. 1261-1282. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (28mm, 4.19 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with six towers / Michael facing, kneeling slightly right and being presented by archangel Michael to Christ seated facing to right and holding scroll. Cf. DOC V 13-4 for type; PCPC 4 (uncerain sigla); SB 2242. Light scratches in margins. Good VF.
