SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos III ‘the Great’. 222-187 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 16.80 g, 12h). Uncertain mint 68, in northern Mesopotamia. Struck circa 197-192/0 BC. Diademed head right (Type D) / BAΣIΛEΩΣ AN-TIOXOY, Apollo, nude, testing arrow in his right hand, left hand holding tip of bow set on ground to right, seated left on omphalos; two monograms to outer left. SC 1132.4; WSM 857 (unlisted dies); HGC 9, 447ff; O. Hoover, “Commerce (Pamphylia or Cilicia Hoard), 2000 (CH 10, 292)” in CH 10, 707 (same obv. die). Bright surfaces, struck from worn dies, light scuff on obverse. Good VF. Rare.
