The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. April-August 49 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.77 g, 10h). Military mint traveling with Caesar. Elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Simpulum, sprinkler, axe (surmounted by a wolf's head), and apex (priest's hat). Crawford 443/1; CRI 9; Sydenham 1006; RSC 49. VF, toned, banker’s mark, large scrape on reverse. Well centered for issue.
