Philip I. AD 244-249. Lot of four (4) AR Antoniniani. RIC IV 32b; RIC IV 41; RIC IV 26b; and RIC IV 38b. All four coins come from the Dorchester hoard. All toned. Near VF to Good VF roughness, encrustation, one with flan crack.

From the Ken Bressett collection. Purchased from Joe Powers in 1950.

The Dorchester hoard was found in Dorchester England in 1936 and was the largest Roman coin find to have been discovered at the time. The hoard consisted of over 22,000 coins, mostly Antoniniani. Several thousand coins were kept by the British Museum and the Dorchester Museum. The remainder was dispersed into the market by Seaby Coins
