Radiate head left / MART I PAC IFERO, Mars standing left, holding olive branch, spear, and shield. RIC V 492 var. (bust type); MIR 36, 1031e; Toffanin 142/1 (RRRRR); RSC 617 var. (same). Toned, weakly struck on the obverse, traces of deposits, some shallow scratches on reverse. Near VF. MIR records only 1 example with radiate head left. Toffanin calls this radiate head left variety “della più grande rarità” (of the greatest rarity). |
