The boy king Ptolemy V was the only Ptolemaic ruler, other than the first, to strike coins with his own portrait in significant numbers. Following his reign, future Ptolemies reverted to the practiceof depicting Ptolemy I Soter on their silver coinage, with a very few exceptions.
