IMP CAES TRAIAN HADRIANO OPT AVG G D PART, laureate and cuirassed bust of Hadrian right, with exposed upper part of breastplate, wearing balteus / DIVO • TRAIANO • PATRI, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Divus Trajan right. RIC II.3 27 (same dies as illustration); Calicó 1413 (same dies as illustration); BMCRE 46 (same dies); Adda 164 (same dies); Biaggi –; Jameson –; Mazzini –. Very minor marks and scratches. Good VF. Very Rare. Only the second to appear in auction in last 20 years, see Triton XXIV, lot 176 for the other example, which hammered for $28,000. |
