AUSTRIA, Salzburg. AR Guldiner – Taler (45mm, 29.13 g, 12h). Dated 1504 (though a 19th century restrike). Two coats-of-arms surmounted by mitre over crossed crozier and scepter / Sts. Rupert and Virgil holding model of church. Cf. Probszt 82; cf. Davenport 8154 (for original strike). Toned, faint hairlines. VF. Overstruck on a taler of Leopold II, circa 1790s, with traces of lettering visible on edge.
