NORMAN. William II Rufus. 1087-1100. AR Penny (20mm, 1.46 g, 5h). Profile type (BMC i). Winchester mint; Eadwine, moneyer. Struck circa 1086-1089. Crowned bust right, holding sword / + EDPINE ON PINCE, cross pattée, with annulet at center; all over cross fleurée in saltire. Harvey 2125a (dies A/a – this coin); SCBI 51 (Estonian), 1121 (same dies); BMC –; North 851; SCBC 1258. Toned, legend weak in parts. Good VF. Strong portrait.
