NORMAN. William II Rufus. 1087-1100. AR Penny (20mm, 1.37 g, 9h). Cross Pattée and Fleury type (BMC iv). Huntingdon mint; Sighvatr, moneyer. Struck circa 1095-1098. Crowned facing bust, holding sword / + SIPIIT ON HIITDII, cross pattée over cross fleurée in saltire. Cf. Eaglen, Huntingdon 311-2 (dies A/-; unlisted rev. die); SCBI –; BMC –; North 855; SCBC 1261. Faint gold toning. VF. Very rare.
