Head of Apollo right, hair bound with taenia; horse’s hoof and foreleg to left / Rider, holding palm, on horse galloping right; VΠ below. Crawford 408/1a; Hersh, Piso –; Sydenham 664c; Calpurnia 24; RBW 1459 var. (controls). Some luster remains. Good VF. Extremely rare. Neither control mark were known to Crawford or listed in Hersh’s extensive die study of the type.
