Crispus. Caesar, AD 316-326. Æ Follis (19.5mm, 3.29 g, 6h). Londinium (London) mint. Struck AD 317. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / CLARITAS REIPVBLICAE, Sol standing left, chlamys across left shoulder, right hand raised, holding globe in left hand; S|P//PLN. RIC VII 103; C&T 8.09.004 (this coin cited and illustrated). Brown patina, light roughness. VF. Rare CLARITAS type.

The cuirass has the interesting laurel-leaf decoration that some believe might be associated with a consulship–in this case Crispus’ joint consulship in AD 318.
