With the introduction of the Temple Facade / CHRISTIANA RELIGIO type of Louis the Pious the Carolingian coinage achieved a remarkable homogeneity. The use of mint names were abandoned and numismatists have assigned particular coins to different mints based on die studies, analysis of style, and find data.
