Struck circa 1163-1188. + BOAИVИDVS , helmeted head left; crescent to left, star to right; upper bar of A decorated with annulets; S decorated with pellets / + ANTIOCHIA, cross pattée; crescent in second quarter. Among the most distinctive of all Crusader denier issues is that of Bohemund III of Antioch and his successors which bears on the obverse ‘a bust wearing a conical helm with a long nose-defence’ and shirt of chain mail. Grierson, p.102.
