MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Pentassarion (27mm, 12.21 g, 12h). Tullius Menophilus, legatus consularis. Struck AD 239-240. Laureate and draped bust of Gordian and draped bust of Sarapis, wearing calathus, vis-à-vis / Hermes standing left, holding purse and caduceus. H&J, Marcianopolis –, but cf. 6.37.10.1-3 (for type); Varbanov –. Rough brown surfaces. Near VF. Very rare variety.

This coin shares an obverse die with H&J 6.37.10.3 but lacks the denomination mark E in the reverse field. Was this an oversight by the celator or is this an unpublished tetrassarion?
