LOW COUNTRIES, Vilvoorde (stad). 12th-13th centuries. AR Denier (13mm, 0.58 g). Civic seal: church façade flanked by two towers, each set on hillock; additional ornament around / Ornate Maltese cross; annulet on each bar and pellet at each end; in opposite quarters, Latin cross composed of five pellets and pellet above pellet-in-annulet. Grierson, Coins of Medieval Europe 202; Vanhoudt G 120-1; De Witte 170-1. Toned, some weakness. VF. Rare.
