KINGS of GALATIA. Amyntas. 36-25 BC. Æ (18.5mm, 3.18 g, 11h). Uncertain mint in Galatia, Pisidia, or Lykaonia. Draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder / Stag standing right. Arslan, Coins K9; HGC 7, 784; RPC I 3503. Rough green-brown patina. Near VF.

In 37/6 BC, Antony awarded Galatia to Amyntas, who continued to rule until his death in 25 BC. Artemis’ features here resemble those of Kleopatra VII of Egypt, possibly as a sign of deference to Antony and the Egyptian queen.
