The inscription in the field, citing al-Nasir li-din Allah, is paralleled on a donative dirham issued by al-Mu‘tadid when he was still heir to the caliphate, dated AH 275 (Ilisch D III 2). The present piece is uniface, with a ghost impression of the legends incuse on the reverse.
