Divus Augustus. Died AD 14. Æ Sestertius (34.5mm, 25.74 g). Rome mint. Coin struck AD 36-37; Countermark applied in Spain AD 64 at the time of Nero’s reform. Quadriga of elephants walking left, with riders; Augustus, [radiate], seated left in car, holding [laurel branch and scepter] / Legend around large S • C; c/m: NCAPR within rectangular incuse. RIC I 68 (Tiberius); for c/m: Pangerl 1a. Brown patina, a few small pits on each side, scrapes on reverse. Host coin: Good; c/m: Good VF. Countermark: N(vmmvs?) C(aesare?) A(vgvsto?) Pr(obatvs?).
