Clear molded glass and gold vessel. Byzantine Empire. 5th-7th centuries AD. (5.9 cm) A solid, clear glass vessel. On each of the rectangular sides, a central stamp of a cross is placed. The glass is then hollowed to create a small cavity. It is capped with a gold cap of fine sheet, decorated with filigree.
