Blue glazed steatite scarab with a personal name in hieroglyphs. Lower Egypt. Hyskos-Early New Kingdoms Period. 1650-1450 BC. (12 mm) A fragment of a scarab with a central bidirectional piercing for suspension. The back is simply engraved, showing features of the scarab. On the face, loss of the right-hand side of the scarab impedes reading the hieroglyphs completely, however what is present suggests a personal name. Chipped.

Sold for the Benefit of the American Numismatic Society.

Closing Date and Time: 30 November 2022 at 14:14:40 ET.

All winning bids are subject to an 20% buyer’s fee.
