Steatite scarab with two uraei. Lower Egypt. New Kingdoms Period. 1550-1050 BC. (16 mm) Scarab with central bi-directional piercing for suspension. On back: Good detail of head, and wing cases, on wing cases, a doubled nfr (beautiful) suggests “Eternal beauty.” On face: Two uraei with nfr ma’At nb suggesting meaning “Beauty of the truth of the Lords Pharoah of both Egypts.”. Loss at 11 – 1h on face.

Sold for the Benefit of the American Numismatic Society; purchased by the consignor from Joel Malter.
