Steatite scarab with uraeii and pharaoh’s name in hieroglyphs. Lower Egypt. New Kingdoms Period. Tuthmose III. 18th Dynasty. 1479-1425 BC. (19 mm) A scarab with a central bidirectional piercing for suspension. The back is simply engraved to define head, clypeus and legs. On the face, loss on the left side impedes full read. What remains is a cartouche of m’n Xpr r' (Tuthmose III) and 3 uraeii to the right facing right. Chipped. |
