IONIA, Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 150-140 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.79 g, 12h). Stephanophoric type. Herognetos, son of Zopyrionos, “magistrate”. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder / Apollo Delphios standing left, elbow resting on tall tripod behind, holding branch tied with fillet; HPOΓNHTOΣ ZOΠYPIΩNOΣ to left, MAΓNHTΩN to right, meander pattern below; all within laurel wreath. Jones dies 30/b; SNG von Aulock 7921; SNG Copenhagen –; BMC 38. Lightly toned, a few tiny deposits. EF. Well centered and struck.
