The Triumvirs. Octavian. Autumn 30-summer 29 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.71 g, 10h). Italian (Rome?) mint. Laureate head of Octavian, as Apollo, right / Rostral column ornamented with two anchors and six beaks of galleys, surmounted by a statue of Octavian, holding spear with right hand and parazonium with left; IMP CAESAR across field. CRI 423; RIC I 271 (Augustus); BMCRE 633-6 = BMCRR Rome 4349-51; BN 68-71; RSC 124 (Augustus). Lightly toned, some light scratches, minor smoothing near edge. Good VF.

From the GTP Collection. Ex Alejandro Lifchuz Collection (Gorny & Mosch 276, 19 April 2021), lot 498, reportedly acquired prior to 1976.
