PAPHLAGONIA, Sinope. Circa 230-200 BC. Fourrée Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.12 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, E and akrostolion above ΣI; monogram below throne. For prototype: cf. Price 1255; cf. HGC 7, 400. Toned, break in plating, numerous cleaning scratches, some filing on edge, doubling on reverse. Near VF. Very rare.
