Andronicus III Palaeologus. 1328-1341. Æ Trachy (24mm, 3.73 g). Constantinople mint. Nimbate standing figure of St. Demetrius, holding spear and shield / Andronicus standing, holding labarum and globus cruciger. DOC V 887; SB 2477. VF, weak strike, but still better than average.
A curious piece, with crude lumpy figures and abbreviated reverse legends. Possibly a contemporary imitation.
