SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 17.03 g). Seleukia on the Tigris mint. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left. SC -; SNG Spaer -. Good VF, lightly toned, minor porosity.

The reverse of this coin has no apparent control marks. The obverse die is the same as SNG Spaer 124 (SC 119.6) which is also shared with SC 117.4-5, 119.7 and 120.1. Possibly a trial strike before the controls were added, perhaps the dies were filled obscuring the controls or perhaps a new issue with no controls.
