India. Gupta Period. Gujarat Region. Circa 4th-5th century AD. Gold Hair-ring. 15mm diameter, 3.21 g. The ring of finely braided gold wire in an intricate twist pattern, with a bezel plate of openwork checkerboard pattern. Two conical projections under the bezel, one of which slides out to open the ring. Granulated and wire decoration. Good condition, the slide works.
