BYZANTINE. Bronze Reliquary Cross (Enkolpion). Circa 9th-11th century. Overall height 40mm. Reliquary in the form of a cross, one side decorated with the crucified Christ, the other with the Virgin Mary (Theotokos), orans. Good condition, attractive dark green patina, hinge detached. The side with Mary almost worn smooth, from being worn as an amulet.
