THRACE, Byzantion. Alliance with Kalchedon. 3rd century BC. Æ 23mm (5.51 g, 12h). Diademed head of Poseidon left / Prow left. Schönert-Geiss, Byzantion 1290-1 var. (V1/R- [unlisted rev. die]); SNG BM Black Sea -; SNG Copenhagen -; McClean 4260; Hunterian 398. Good VF, dark green-black patina, a few minor pits. Very rare, better than the specimens listed in Schönert-Geiss.
