BYZANTINE. Early. Bronze Enkolpion. 7th-9th century AD. Reliquary in the form of a cross, one side decorated with the crucified Christ, the other with the Theotokos, orans, with cylindrical hanger attached. Overall height 49mm. Still contains contents. Choice condition, attractive dark green patina.
