EARLY MEDIEVAL. Migration Period. Bronze Appliqué. 8th-9th century AD. Cast figure of animal curled on itself in style of those depicted in Lindisfarne Gospels or Book of Kells, with bracket for attachment on back. Overall diameter 42mm. Good condition with red and green patina, encrustaion on reverse.
