CARIA, Kaunos. Circa 490-470 BC. AR Stater (19mm, 11.93 g). Winged female deity running right, head reverted / Conical baetyl in incuse square; turtle(?) on baetyl. Konuk Period I (unlisted dies) / / Lot also includes an Æ 13mm (1.71 g). Bull butting right / Sphinx seated right. Konuk Type B. Both VF. 2 coins in lot.

The object which looks like a turtle could be a countermark or the remains of an undertype; no symbols are noted on any stater from Konuk’s Period I.
