CELTIC, Danube Region. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Circa 2nd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 13.01 g). Chinless type. Diademed head of Zeus right, chinless and of deteriorated design / Rider on horseback right. CCCBM I 50-4 (same rev. die as 52); Kostial 562; Göbl
OTA 244/14. VF.
At first glance this type seems to share its obverse die with CCCBM I 50-4, but upon closer inspection one can see that there are subtle differences. Thus it appears that a die that had deteriorated through use was copied or re-engraved to strike this coin.
