THESSALY, Melitaia. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 14mm (1.78 g, 6h). Laureate head of Zeus left; thunderbolt behind / Bee. Rogers 398; SNG Copenhagen 173; Pozzi (Boutin) 2814 (this coin). VF, attractive green patina.

From the Christopher Morcom Collection. Ex Prof. S. Pozzi Collection; M.P. Vlasto Collection.

Boutin cites Rogers 399, which lists this coin. Rogers’ listing is in error, however, as 399 lacks the thunderbolt on the obverse, but the thunderbolt is clearly present on this coin. Rogers also errs in noting the coin as Pozzi 1219, as this coin did not appear in the Pozzi sale.
