PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter. As satrap, 323-305 BC. Æ Chalkous (15mm, 2.63 g, 1h). Ptolemaic standard. Alexandreia mint. Struck circa 305 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin headdress / Athena Alkidemos advancing right; uncertain monogram to inner left; to right, EY monogram and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Cf. Svoronos 45; Zervos Issue XVII; cf. SNG Copenhagen 16 (cited examples are drachms). VF, brown patina. Unpublished denomination and monogram.
