PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Time of Ptolemy VIII-X. 145-88 BC. AR Didrachm (6.86 g, 12h). Uncertain mint in Cyprus. Bust of young Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath and aegis; filleted thyrsos over shoulder / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt with wings displayed; to left, Macedonian helmet left. Svoronos 1802b and pl. LIV, 11 (same obv. die); SNG Copenhagen 640-641 var. (symbol). Good VF. Well struck with dies of fine style. Very rare.
