PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Cleopatra VII Thea Neotera. 51-30 BC. Æ 17mm (4.75 g, 12h). Chalkis (Syria) mint. Dated RY 21 and 6 (32/1 BC). BACILICCIC KLE-OPATRAC, diademed and draped bust right / ETOYC KA TOY KAI v QE[AC NEWTEPAC], Athena advancing left, holding shield and spear. Svoronos -; SNG Copenhagen -; RPC I 4773; Rouvier 439 (Berytus). EF, dark green-brown patina, small flan flaw at edge on obverse. An exceptional example. Very rare.

Mark Antony illegitimately "bestowed" a number of territories in the east on Cleopatra, including Chalkis in 36 BC, which were added to her royal dominions. These coins of Chalkis were dated with both the Egyptian and Phoenician regnal years of Cleopatra.
