Julius Caesar. August 43 BC. AR Denarius (3.60 g, 7h). Posthumous issue. Rome mint. L. Flaminius Chilo, moneyer. Laureate head right / Pax standing left, holding caduceus and scepter. Crawford 485/1; CRI 113; Sydenham 1089; RSC 26. Near EF, toned, two light scratches from mouth and chin to border, done in antiquity, small area of deposit near edge on reverse. Well centered, struck on a broad flan. Exceptional portrait.
