Maximinus I. AD 235-238. Æ Sestertius (18.73 g, 12h). Rome mint. 1st emission, AD 235. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Pax standing left, holding olive branch and scepter. RIC IV 58; BMCRE 7; Banti 11b. Good VF, dark green patina, earthen and brick-red highlights. Wonderful early portrait resembling Severus Alexander, presumably before the mint had a model portrait of the new emperor.
