SICILY, Syracuse. Hiketas II. 287-278 BC. Æ 24mm (10.93 g). Wreathed head of Persephone left / Female driving biga right; star above. Cf. CNS II 123; cf. SNG ANS 771. Good VF, brown patina with some green. The Persephone / Biga type normally has subsidiary control marks on obverse and/or reverse. This specimen, of good style on large flan, has no trace of such controls.
