Arthur Houghton Collection, 383.

Antiochos X Eusebes was the son of Antiochos IX Kyzikenos. He took command of the forces loyal to his father after Kyzikenos was killed by Seleukos VI, and seized Antioch in 94 BC. In early 93 BC, Eusebes was ousted from Antioch by Seleukos' brothers, Antiochos XI and Philip I. Their hold on the city, however, was short-lived, as they were defeated by Eusebes in the late summer or early fall that same year. Early in 92 BC, Antiochos was killed leading an army against the Parthians, who had taken advantage of the turmoil to make new inroads to Syria. As with many of the late Seleukid kings, his tetradrachms are fairly plentiful, but his drachms are very rare.
