SICILY, Katane. Circa 412-403 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.30 g, 9h). Obverse die signed by the artist H-. Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving fast quadriga left; above, Nike flying right, crowning him with wreath; H in exergue / KA[TANAIWN], head of Amenanos left, wearing tainia. SNG ANS 1259 (same dies); cf. SNG Lloyd 900; SNG Ashmolean 1709; Rizzo pl. XIV, 2 (same rev. die); Basel 336 (same obv. die); Gulbenkian 187 (same dies). Near EF, lightly toned, typical circular flan flaw on reverse. Excellent metal.
