SICILY, Leontini. Circa 430-425 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.94 g, 12h). Head of Apollo left, wearing laurel wreath / LE-O-N-TI-N-ON, head of roaring lion left; three barley grains around, leaf behind. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 55 (same dies); SNG ANS 257 (same dies); SNG Lloyd 1063 (same obv. die); Rizzo pl. XXIV, 4 (same dies); Basel 353 (same dies). Superb EF, underlying luster, small die break in hair. Early die state.
